The White Sox hitting woes resonated throughout the entire team but were most noticeable in the 6’6” DH Adam Dunn. Brought in to be the left handed compliment to Paul Konerko, Dunn was anything but. As is typically the case, Dunn had a difficult time adjusting to the DH position hitting a career low in homers (11) and RBIs (42) while batting only .159.
The bench players for the Sox were a mixed bag, Brent Lillibridge played so well many felt he earned a chance to start, but when given the chance his numbers began to fall, Omar Vizquel was forgotten most of the time receiving a mere 167 at bats and only held more deserving players down like, Viciedo and De Aza.
When given a shot the Chicago Knights (Flowers, De Aza and Viciedo) showed they could play, giving the Sox a glimpse into the future.
Flowers, De Aza and Viciedo all look to be, at least competing for roster spots next year.
Ramon Castro, AKA Blastro, broke his hand, unfortunately, as he looked to have another good season as the Sox backup catcher
