While it has been difficult at times for the Chicago White Sox during this rebuilding year, there’s certainly been a few bright spots. One of those has come in the form of veteran Jose Abreu.
The first baseman has been on a tear this year and he’s doing it quietly.
With the Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros and New York Yankees receiving the majority of the praise in the American League, Abreu has put together an impressive season on the South Side. Going into June 10th, Abreu was leading all American League first basemen in average (.295), OPS (.871), RBI (37), Hits (71), extra base hits (34) and is fifth in home runs (10).
