The 2017-18 NBA regular season came to an end on Wednesday night as the league now shifts to the NBA Playoffs and the road to the NBA Finals. For the Chicago Bulls, they ended a rebuilding season at 27-55 and tied for the sixth-worst record.
This past season and upcoming NBA Draft are big for the future of the franchise as this draft is considered loaded at the top.
On Friday, the NBA announced the tiebreaker results regarding teams in the NBA Draft Lottery as well as those who own picks outside of it. The Bulls hold New Orleans’ first round pick as well as their own first rounder and got some good news on at least one of those picks.
The Bulls won the tiebreaker over Sacramento, earning the No. 6 overall pick. If the Bulls don’t move into the Top 3 at May 15th’s NBA Draft Lottery, they will pick no worse than sixth overall.

If a team 7-14 moves into the Top 3, it would slot the Bulls back a pick. As for the Pelicans first round pick, the Bulls could have drafted as high as No. 20 but instead will pick No. 22 overall.
With two first round picks and the possibility to land in the Top 3 for June’s draft, Chicago really needs to hit on both picks. They can take one of the projected starts in the Top 6 and the a solid role player later in the first round.
