The Chicago Cubs are in the middle of a Playoff race as they hope to hold off both the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central over the final two months of the season. As we go into the second week of August, the Cubs have 2 game lead on the Cardinals and a 2.5 game lead on the Brewers.
But while that race goes on, MLB is starting to look ahead to the 2020 season. Well, sort of.
On Monday, MLB released the official 2020 schedule for all teams with dates and opponents set. Check out the Cubs schedule which begins with a three-game road series vs. Milwaukee followed by the home opener against Pittsburgh on March 30th at Wrigley Field:
The Cubs will once again play a four-game series against the White Sox, going to Guaranteed Rate Field on July 7-8 and then hosting the South Siders on July 20-21. In addition to the White Sox, the Cubs will play the AL East in interleague play.
Boston comes to Wrigley Field for a three-game series from July 19-21, Tampa Bay is here July 3-5 and Baltimore will be in town June 2-3. The Cubs will also take a trip to Yankee Stadium to play the Yankees June 26-28.
Chicago wraps up the schedule by playing 10 of their final 12 games at Wrigley Field with just the two coming on the road at Pitt.
Times will be officially announced at a later date.
