DE – Trevis Gipson
This one was tricky for me, because Trevis Gipson is absolutely not a cut candidate. He just has a whole lot to prove heading into this season.
Gipson will enter his fourth and final year of his contact this season, as he has a lot at stake heading into training camp. This season, he’ll most likely be a full-time starter if he proves himself in the dog days of summer. Gipson is just 2 years removed from an impressive 2021 campaign, where he recorded 7 sacks and 39 combined tackles.

Last year, he started 10 games but is projected to start more this season. Gipson can really solidify himself as the teams’ best pass rusher if he puts the work in during camp and comes into the season with the same mentality that he had in 2021.
This defense needs to improve vastly in the pass rush department, and with help from Gipson could turn that line around. He’ll have to personally improve if he wants an extension at the end of this season.
