EDGE Derick Hall, Auburn / 6’3 255 LBS
Defense has to be the target here in the second round after the pitiful numbers it put up at the end of the last season. My heart wants me them to grab Darnell Washington and make this offense a juggernaut, but Poles should be thinking with his head during this round. I also don’t think Washington will even make it to their pick.
Derick Hall is a force off the edge, and the Chicago Bears need to get to the quarterback more often in 2023-24 in order for this team to be competitive. He was the team captain for the Auburn Tigers, showing he’s already a proven leader, and you can never have enough of those.
Decided to rewatch a little of Derick Hall today after seeing the news of his visit with the #Bears.
I previously mentioned how much I love his motor. His shed wasn’t the cleanest here, but he wins his rep and sacks Bryce Young with outstanding closing speed. pic.twitter.com/Bx7xGN936C

Over his four-year career at Auburn, Hall tallied up 19.5 sacks and 30 tackles for loss. Hall is explosive off the edge and consistently wins his reps against bigger offensive lineman. He’s strength is out of this world and it’s evident when you watch his tape over the last two seasons.
He needs to improve as a run defender and could use a few more skill moves in his arsenal, so he doesn’t have to rely on pure strength every rush. These are a few things I believe he could improve once he gets coached up. Hall could potentially be there at the end of the second round, but with how this draft started last night, anything is possible.
Who would you like the Chicago Bears to select here in the second round?
