Chase Brown – Illinois / 5’10 210 LBS
You won’t have to look far to find a bigger Chase Brown fan than myself. He has a pretty high ceiling and if drafted to the right organization, could flourish. I even mocked him to go to the Chicago Bears in the fourth round, which you can check out here in this link.
Brown is a work horse. If you watched any Illinois football this year, you could tell that he was the engine for the Fighting Illini. He’s a brilliant pass catcher out of the backfield in addition to his impressive running in between tackles. Brown was one of the best backs in the country this past season, rushing for 1,643 yards which was fourth best in the nation. He also caught 27 passes for 240 yards and three receiving touchdowns.

I think he’d be a perfect fit for the Chicago Bears system that certain a guy like Brown, a young power back who can also contribute to pass game as well. Brown is a one-cut back with really impressive vision, and for his size he’s got quite the punch when running inside. His acceleration and burst are also points strengths to his game.
In the NFL, I also see Chase Brown as a third down back with potential to one day start. Think Tyler Allgeier from last years’ draft out of BYU and look at the success he had his rookie season in a multi-back offense. Allgeier is a tad bigger and a bit more explosive, but when watching tape that was the comparison I made.
It’ll be interesting to see what the Chicago Bears do. With the draft just nine days away, we won’t have to wait long to find out.
