After about a month of great defense, the Sox are on a downwards spiral. Even though they won last night, Minnesota scored 6 runs after the dropped ball Alex Rios. Tonight it was Dayan Viciedo and Gordon Beckham in the 4th innings, who who would combine for 2 errors allowing 4 runs to cross the plate.
Every night I log in to Chicitysports.com to a write a recap about the Sox game. Tonight, I am going to vent.
Do I love what the Sox have been able to do over the last 31 games? Of Course. Do I think that a 9 game winning streak is awesome? Of Course. But why am I so mad? When a team plays for a long stretch where it seems everything goes right, you almost get spoiled by what you think the team can do. After going 26-5 in our last 31, I think it is fair to say that we were spoiled. But in just 2 games after the all-star break, the Sox are looking like what they were in the first 2 months of the season. Silly errors, whether it is dropping a fly ball, or making a bad throw to first, or not being able to handle a ground ball, these are all things that could easily doom the White Sox.
On the bright side the Sox still have a 1 game lead over teh Tigers after the Cleveland Indians beat the Tigers toight.
