Role players need to step up
Whether it is Caruso’s staggering defense or Coby White’s spot-up threes, the Bulls will need more from where that came from if they want to have a prayer of winning in Milwaukee. White’s 12 points (2-6 from 3PT) were a great asset to the Bulls, who only have a handful of three-point shooters. Caruso’s numbers weren’t eye-opening on paper, but his presence on the floor was felt, especially through his two steals in the fourth quarter.
Patrick Williams is also going to have a big role in the coming games. Williams was assigned to Antetokounmpo during his 23 minutes on the floor and did his best to hold his own, despite some troubles. With Tristan Thompson not really doing much and Vucevic sweating it out on offense, solid defense from Williams to help slow down Antetokounmpo will be essential for the Bulls to stay in the game. There is no way the Bucks will shoot as terrible as they did in Game 1, so the bench will have to contribute strongly on both ends of the floor come Tuesday.
