The Rockford IceHogs finished the weekend on a low note Sunday evening, losing to the Milwaukee Admirals,7-3. The first period saw the game in a give & take mode, with each team scoring twice. Then the IceHogs seemed to lose their momentum in the 2nd frame and Milwaukee took full advantage, scoring four more goals to Rockford’s one goal. The Admirals sealed their win in the third period, with an empty netter by former IceHogs player, Mike Liambas.
Tension & tempers ran high between the teams and fans saw multiple scrums breaking out. The teams racked up penalties that totaled 40 minutes/12 infractions for Milwaukee and 28 minutes/10 infractions for Rockford.
The IceHogs hit the road and don’t return home until November 12th, when they host the Charlotte Checkers. Point of interest…former IceHogs’ goalie, Michael Leighton, is currently playing for the Checkers.
