Chicago area soccer fans will be able to watch more than one local team from the comfort of their homes this year, as the National Women’s Soccer League announced Wednesday that all of the 2014 season will be broadcast on YouTube. YouTube broadcasts have been a growing trend among sports leagues, including the National Lacrosse League and the NBA D-League.
The league expanded to nine teams for the 2014 season, adding the Houston Dash. The new team is owned by the Houston Dynamo and will play at BBVA Compass Stadium.
The Red Stars begin their season on Saturday, April 19 at Toyota Park, hosting the Western New York Flash. The match will be a double-header with the Fire game against the New England Revolution, and those who purchase tickets to the MLS game will be allowed to attend the NWSL game for free.
