Contrary to popular knowledge the highly popular casino game Roulette does not just work on a standard universal set of rules wherever you are, oh no. The game originated out of Italy in a very rudimentary form, before being fine-tuned in France during the early 1800s. After this it quickly rose in popularity, subsequently spreading across Europe, and also making the jump across the Atlantic.
When people in the US first encountered Roulette it was absolute pandemonium as you might well expect. Casino games don’t get much more exciting even now, so can you imagine the frenzy when Roulette was first introduced? Regardless, as alterations continued to be made in Europe, our transatlantic friends kept the game as it was, and that is why there is both American and European Roulette. Let’s take a look at the US version – follow link to learn more.
The Basic Roulette numbers
So, just like the European counterpart, American Roulette is a game that revolves around the famous Roulette wheel, with bets being placed on certain numbers, colours, or odds and evens. The main difference, however, is that the US Roulette wheel has 38 different places that the ball can land, as oppose to the European wheel’s 37. This is because there are actually two 0 values in the US version, in contrast to just the one if you play in Europe.
In actuality Roulette always used to have two zero values, but over the time the European version was streamlined, perhaps in order to attract more players to the activity – one less zero greatly improves your odds. Anyhow, in American Roulette things get rather simple after you have placed your bet. The wheel gets spun in one direction and a ball dropped in the other, after this it is just down to fate…
Essential Vocabulary For Betting In American Roulette
Like with almost any other casino table game, American Roulette has a very specific set of words that you must know the meaning of in order to have the full range of bets that are available to you. These are split between Inside and Outside bets, with the former describing the actual numbers on the wheel, and the latter being for bets made on colours, odds and evens and other more universal qualities.
Whilst Inside bets tend to have a much larger pay-off than Outside ones, this is down to the less favourable odds when using them. So remember that when you are trying to decide which one to go for – it is commonly accepted that a blend throughout your gambling session is the right way to go. Regardless, without further ado let’s take a look at some Outside bets and how to make them:
· Red Number: Pretty self-explanatory – drop your chip on this square and your bet will cover all red numbers on the Roulette wheel.
· Black Number: Exactly the same as the Red bet, only this time you will cover all the Black bets.· Odd Number: This bet will cover all odd numbers.
