Angel Reese has not stopped thinking of her WNBA team the Chicago Sky even as she prepared for her debut in the Unrivaled league. While the women’s league is on a break, the “Chi-Town Barbie” is putting her skills to the test in the 3×3 league co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier.
The Sky missed out on the playoffs in the final days of their 2023-24 campaign partly due to the season-ending injury Reese suffered with six games left to play in the regular season. The star forward is eager to help bring the team back to title contention in her sophomore year as a pro.
Meanwhile, Reese is also seemingly doing recruitment work for the Sky ahead of her Unrivaled debut. The 2024 Rookie of the Year runner-up recently reacted to Notre Dame guard Olivia Miles’ post on X asking her followers whether she should wear her hair out for a game.
“Yeah, but only if you color it blue and yellow,” Angel Reese said in her quote-tweet.

Whether or not Miles actually joins Reese in Chicago is not in either of their hands. First, the Fighting Irish guard will have to declare for the 2025 WNBA Draft, where there will be hopeful young players looking to start their professional careers. Miles has been touted as a player who could dethrone Paige Bueckers as the potential first-overall draft pick.
The Sky will have the third overall pick in the upcoming draft, giving them a high chance to bring Miles to Chicago.
Before Angel Reese, Sue Bird sang praises for Olivia Miles
Notre Dame guard Olivia Miles has been getting every women’s college basketball fans’ attention this season. Aside from Angel Reese, WNBA legend Sue Bird is also high on the rising Fighting Irish star.
Back in November, Bird talked about the best prospects who could make an impact this NCAA season in her “A Touch More” podcast with her fiancee Megan Rapinoe. The four-time WNBA champion mentioned Miles among other names who are set to take the college basketball world by storm.
“Quick list outside of Paige [Beuckers]. You’ve got Azzi Fudd, Olivia Miles, Lauren Betts [and] Rori Harmon,” Bird said. “Those are four, and five if you count Paige, legit players that we don’t know if they’re coming out yet and they would shake up the draft,” she said.
If all the players Bird mentioned end up declaring for the draft, things could get even more exciting for the WNBA next season.
