Chicago Sky star and social media personality Angel Reese recently faced backlash over her social media post wearing revealing clothing, which fans and analysts have likened to what an OnlyFans model would wear. For analyst and sports journalist Jason Whitlock, this is proof that the WNBA player does not plan to play on the court in the long run but rather to become “somebody that men desire.”
In one of the recent episodes of his program “Fearless,” Whitlock criticized Reese for her recent social media post and gave his honest opinion about the WNBA player on whether she really wants to be a baller or not.
“She’s gone way too far,” Whitlock said. “She’s not presenting herself in a healthy fashion and I think at some point people are going to start asking themselves: does angel Reese really want to play basketball? I look at these pictures and I say that Angel Reese does not want to be an athlete. Angel Reese wants to be a model. Angel Reese wants to be somebody’s trophy wife.”
He added: “Reese wants to be some woman that men desire and she’s using basketball just to build herself up as some sort of sex symbol, calendar girl, supermodel, [and a] trophy wife for a rich basketball player.”
In the past week, former NBA point guard Jeff Teague and social media personality Charleston White gave controversial takes on Angel Reese and the women of the WNBA, saying that Reese should start an OnlyFans, dunk while wearing lingerie, all so she could “sell more tickets.”
The comments did not go unnoticed, as people went out their way to defend Reese, and called out the podcasters for their controversial takes. Angel Reese never made any public statement addressing the issue.
“I Have Defended Angel Reese, But…”
In the same episode of his program, Jason Whitlock also called out how Angel Reese had gone over the line in posting the controversial photo of her. This is especially after fans and other analysts like Whitlock have come to her defense after misogynistic comments were thrown her way.
“I have defended Angel Reese for bringing femininity to women’s basketball,” Whitlock said. “People were tired of women’s basketball players being very manly [and] presenting themselves as tatted-up men, rather than as women. But Angel Reese has clearly gone too far. She’s turned this whole thing into a low-class, lightweight PornhHub.
He added: “[This is] basically the type of basketball brand that Angel Reese is presenting.”
