The Chicago Bears have been identified as one of the teams interested in selecting running back Ashton Jeanty in the draft on Thursday.
The 2024 Heisman Trophy runner-up would help give new head coach Ben Johnson a thunder option in the backfield to pair with D’Andre Swift. Johnson had a similar backfield with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs in Detroit.
The Chicago Bears want Ashton Jeanty

Per a report by The Athletic‘s Dianna Russini on Thursday morning, Chicago wants to select Jeanty if he falls to No. 10.
“The Bears have been linked to Jeanty for weeks, and they are hoping they can snag him at 10,” Russini wrote.
But can Jeanty fall to No. 10?
The New York Giants (pick No.3) and Las Vegas Raiders (pick No. 6) are the most likely teams who would select Jeanty before Chicago.
The Giants have yet to replace Saquon Barkley, who showed up New York by being a spark that led the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl. Running back was a problem for the Raiders after they lost Josh Jacobs in free agency last year.
Update on the Las Vegas Raiders’ plans with Jeanty

Per Russini, the Raiders did “homework” on Jeanty but are more worried about improving their offensive line.
“The Raiders, led by first-time general manager John Spytek, spent substantial time doing homework on Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty, but strong cases are being made in their draft room to go offensive line instead,” Russini wrote.
The Bears would also be smart to improve their OL by taking a left tackle at No. 10. However, general manager Ryan Poles will have difficulty turning down the opportunity to land an exciting talent like Jeanty.
