The Chicago White Sox won’t take on Oakland Athletics starter Sonny Gray after all.
The Athletics pitcher was scratched from tonight’s game against the Chicago White Sox due to food poisoning. The team made the announcement this afternoon, replacing him with former Cubs pitcher Rich Hill.

Gray was named the Opening Day start by manager Bob Melvin in Spring Training, scheduled to go against ace pitcher Chris Sale. Advantage has to go to the White Sox on this one as they will now face a starter who learned about his start roughly 8 hours prior.
First pitch is set for 9:05 p.m. CDT in Oakland.
