Mike Tauchman is off to a really good start in 2023 with the Chicago Cubs. The non-roster invitee in Tauchman is trying to take advantage of an unfortunate injury to Seiya Suzuki by with making the opening day roster, and proving that he belongs overall in the MLB.

The Chicago Cubs have reportedly come to terms with veteran catcher Tucker Barnhart on a 2-year deal. Barnhart will be the backup catcher for Yan Gomes.

Nico Hoerner had a really good year for the Chicago Cubs in 2022 on both sides. He was also able to stay healthy as well for the majority of the season. The Cubs would be very smart to lock up Hoerner for the future.
