Just a few days after the Bears decided to part ways with Brian Urlacher, it looks like they could have found a potential replacement for the upcoming season.
The Chicago Tribunes Dan Pompei reports the Bears and linebacker D.J. Williams have agreed to a one-year deal worth $900,000. The contract can max out at $1.75 million if he earns bonuses during the one-year deal.
The 6-foot-1, 242 pound inside linebacker has had his problems in the past including suspensions of six games and three games for violating the league’s performance enhancing policy and a DUI arrest back in 2010.
Williams however gives the Bears an experienced linebacker to play along side Lance Briggs and now gives them options with the 20th overall pick in the upcoming draft.
