It’s been over 30 years since the Vincent Lombardi trophy has been in possession of the Monsters of the Midway. Think about how drastically the world has changed since then: everyone has a mini-computer in their possession (cellphones), the cost of college has skyrocketed and Donald Trump is a legitimate candidate for the President of the United States.
Chicago Bears new linebacker Danny Trevathan is trying to change that. Well, at least the Super Bowl thing.
Trevathan received his Super Bowl ring from his time with last year’s champion Denver Broncos and has been wearing it around his teammates in effort to get everyone’s mind on the same collective goal.

Trevathan is one of the major additions to the Bears defense that clearly needed impact players. Though he may not be known to the casual fan, Trevathan rated as Pro Football Focus’s top 20 unrestricted free agents this past offseason and figures to be a much-needed cog in the Bears defense along with Jerrell Freeman. Trevathan is solid in run defense and even better in coverage, an area the Bears sorely lacked in last year.
Though it may seem trivial to some media and fans, the message behind what Danny Trevathan is trying to preach is important. He wants to see his fellow teammates carry themselves with an attitude that they will be in the big game come February 5, 2017. He wants to see a championship attitude from the team because he knows how far that belief can carry a team.

If wearing a ring around his teammates can accomplish that and push the Bears to a place most pundits don’t believe they can go, Bears fans will have no problem with that.
The Bears finished minicamp on Thursday and will report to Bourbonnais for Training Camp in July.
