Sean Jensen, the Bears/NFL columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that the Bears are expected to sign WR Roy Williams. Williams will provide Jay Cutler with a large target that already has played in Mike Martz’ system before.
This news comes out 35 minutes after a tweet from Roy’s “homie” that he had landed a deal in Chicago.
In 2006, Roy Williams had 82 catches for 1,310 yards with seven touchdowns and made the pro bowl. Who was his Quarterback you ask? Jon Freakin’ Kitna.
Hopefully Roy Williams still has some juice left in the tank and will provide a spark that the Bears need at the Wide Receiver position. Several hours after losing out on TE Greg Olsen, Bear fans were hoping for some sort of move to bring an offensive weapon via Free Agency.
Here are some highlights from Roy’s 2010 campaign in Dallas. Half of the season…..Jon Kitna was his quarterback once again. Different results.
