The Chicago Bears will be without linebacker Lance Briggs for Sunday’s game in Atlanta. The team ruled out the linebacker after he did not practice again.
Briggs has been dealing with a rib injury and has missed practice throughout the week. The concern was not initially high, but rose as Briggs sat out.
The Bears also ruled out linebacker Shea McClellin (hand) and offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod (knee) for Sunday’s game.
Listed as questionable is linebacker Jon Bostic and Sherrick McManis. If McManis can’t go, rookie safety Brock Vereen is likely to start at the nickelback position for the Bears.
There is some positive news as the Bears will get defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff back after he missed the past three games with a concussion. Joining him on the probable list is linebacker D.J. Williams, center Roberto Garza and safety Chris Conte.
