It’s official. The Chicago Bears have started their pursuit for former Lions and Cowboys receiver Roy Williams who was released by the Dallas Cowboys earlier today.
Williams previously played in a Mike Martz system while he was in Detroit. He can provide the type of big physical receiver the Chicago Bears have been looking for. Williams also has ties to Bears wide receivers coach Darryl Drake, who coached Williams at the University of Texas.
If the Bears can get Williams for the right price, expect a signing early on when free agency opens.
Another wide receiver target for the Chicago Bears has been taken off the list. Local 12 CBS in Cincinnati has reported the Bengals have agreed to trade wide receiver Chad Ochocinco to the New England Patriots.
Ochocinco has also reconstructed his three year deal with New England. This now gives Tom Brady another big offensive target to throw to.
