In an off-season characterized by revamping the defense, the Bears make an addition to the offensive line. The Bears signed center Brian de la Puente to a contract today.
Brian de la Puente started for the Saints for 3 seasons at center, receiving grades of +6.1 (2013), +23.0 (2012), and +6.1 (2011) from the website Pro Football Focus. Bears offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer worked with de la Puente in New Orleans from 2011 and 2012. Reports are that de la Puente will backup Roberto Garza.
