New Bears GM Ryan Poles pulled off another very solid signing in snagging Dane Cruikshank. Cruikshank was a vital piece of the Titans improved secondary in 2021. He has often been referred to as “The Tight End Eraser”. It was finally time for him to seek a larger role on a defense and that appears to be why Ryan Poles snagged him. There are articles such as this one from AtoZ Sports that claims signing Cruikshank is a much bigger deal than people would think.
Dane’s agent, David Canter broke the news on Twitter earlier this evening. The terms of the deal aren’t disclosed yet but if other free agent signings are any indication thus far, it should be a solid deal for the Bears.
Often when the Bears pick-up a player I’ll scour other websites, forums, subreddits to see the team’s reaction to losing that player. 98% of the comments relating to the Titans losing Cruikshank are upset that he’s leaving Tennessee. In 2021 he had 43 tackles and a forced fumble.
