Mark off September 5th, 2019 on your calendars.
The Chicago Bears will host the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 5 on Thursday Night Football to open up the 2019 NFL Season and celebrate the leagues 100th year. The NFL made it official on Monday after months of speculation that the two teams would meet again in Week 1.
This will mark the second-straight season the two teams have played in primetime in Week 1, with the Packers beating the Bears in Green Bay on Sunday Night Football.
Chicago would bounce back and beat Green Bay later on in the season to clinch the NFC North title.
The Week 1 showdown will mark the 199th meeting all-time between the two rivals after first playing in 1921. Over the years, the two teams have had legendary battles and with Chicago being the reigning NFC North Champs, the atmosphere for Week 1 should be electric.
The rest of the 2019 NFL schedule will be released later in April.
