The Chicago Bears brought in free agent Isaiah Ford for a workout
Right before training camp, the Chicago Bears shocked everyone by putting Chase Claypool on the PUP list. The NFL’s training camps start on Monday, but teams are still debating whether to add players to round out the roster. According to NFL source Jordan Schultz, the Bears also hosted wide receiver Isaiah Ford for a workout.

Out of Virginia Tech, Ford was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He struggled with injuries during his first season and didn’t start to make a big impact until the 2019 campaign. Ford had a season total of no more than 276 yards and was used as a backup receiver.
In 2021, his final regular season game, he had 12 receptions for 161 yards and two touchdowns. He was a member of the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad for the 2022 campaign.
With Claypool, DJ Moore, and returning starter Darnell Mooney, the wide receiver group is very loaded. Where Ford fits in is still unknown, so this addition is merely for depth and perhaps as a player who can occasionally return kicks or punts. Even though training camp has started, the team is still looking to add players to their roster, especially because there are a few intriguing positional battles to observe.
