This week’s BOTW: Allagash Curieux
I know, it’s not a Chicago beer. But! It’s incredible, so I’m telling you, you have to get it.
The Allagash Curieux is their original Tripel ale aged in Jim Beam barrels for two months, then blended with a little more Tripel, and finally bottled for your tasting pleasure. The end product is delicious and will definitely leave you with a good buzz.
Bright golden orange color with plenty of soft carbonation carrying spicy clove and oak aromas. The flavor is sweet and subtle with a nice creamy mouthfeel. There’s a subtle spiciness with a little sour tang finishing with a nice bourbony alcohol burn.
It’s very complex, very delicious, and very boozy. What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon?
I know this is the second Tripel in a row, I swear I didn’t do it on purpose. I’ll branch out a bit next week.
Enjoy your weekend!
