Andre Drummond’s Best Games (2013-2014)
4/10/2013 – vs. Cleveland: 34 minutes, 29 points (10/11 FG), 11 rebounds, 1 assist
While these stats are not completely polarizing, this was arguably Drummond’s first-best game as a rookie. Drummond notched an uncharacteristic 29 points for the Pistons to help them defeat the Cavaliers 111-104. With only four games left in his rookie year, he was able to show he can also score the ball and is not just a rebound-chaser.
11/15/2013 – vs. Sacramento: 36 minutes, 15 points (7/13 FG), 18 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist
Now receiving ample playing time from then-coach Lawrence Frank, Drummond was able to showcase his skills and put up some serious numbers. At just 20 years of age, Drummond further solidified his future as the team’s starting center with his ease in ending each night with a double-double.
12/1/2013 – vs. Philadelphia: 33 minutes, 31 points (12/15 FG), 19 rebounds, 6 steals, 2 blocks
Drummond’s success continued when the Philadelphia 76ers came to town. He was a complete menace on defense, closing the night with 6 steals (still a career-high for him to this day). The Pistons were able to defeat the Sixers 115-110 thanks to his efficient shot-taking around the rim and 19 boards.
3/3/2014 – vs. New York: 46 minutes, 17 points (6/9 FG), 26 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals
The Pistons battled the Knicks on their homecourt and Drummond was able to make his imprint in this matchup. Most notably, Drummond went up against two legitimate big men in 6’10” Amar’e Stoudemire and 7’0” Tyson Chandler. The Knicks shot 38% from the field that night, and Drummond was collecting nearly every bricked shot off the rim.
4/11/2014 – vs. Chicago: 42 minutes, 26 points (11/17 FG), 26 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block
The Pistons failed to make the playoffs for the second-straight year since drafting Drummond, however, he was able to put up another wild performance with the season coming to an end. The Pistons fell to the Bulls 106-98 in this meeting, but Drummond closed the night with an impressive 26 and 26 performance. Drummond ended the 2013-2014 season averaging a double-double, 13.5 points, and 13.2 rebounds.
