The Pistons started the 2014-2015 season with a dismal record of 5-20 heading into this meeting against the Mavericks. Drummond matched up against Tyson Chandler in this game and was able to have his way around the glass, grabbing 24 rebounds. Seven of the 24 rebounds were offensive rebounds which allowed Drummond to find some scattered scoring chances. At this time, Drummond was playing alongside the likes of Brandon Jennings, Josh Smith, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and the team was struggling to win games.

The team continued to struggle as a whole, losing 98-105 to the Warriors in this one and their record dropped to 23-41. Drummond had a memorable night in this meeting, however, grabbing a new career-high at the time of 27 boards, with 17 of them being offensive (still his career-high). This was the Piston’s eighth-straight loss in a row and the team failed to make the Playoffs once again.
