The Chicago Blackhawks earn their first road victory of the season knocking off the Phoenix Coyotes 5-2.
Marian Hossa returned to action after missing Saturday’s contest against Boston with an upper-body injury and made his return noticeable scoring the games first goal on the power play. Jamal Mayers, Jonathan Toews, Dave Bolland, and Bryan Bickell also added goals for the Blackhawks.
It was an overall complete win for a team that failed to pull out a second point last weekend against the defending Stanley Cup Champions. The Blackhawks came out firing and didn’t let their foot off of the gas pedal at any point. Solid 60-minute game.
Corey Crawford wasn’t really tested tonight only stopping 14 of 16 total shots, but at one point in the game, he didn’t see a shot for a little over 10 minutes. The Blackhawks were credited with 15 blocked shots, more saves than Crawford had in the entire contest! The defense definitely had one of their better games and it showed.
NOTES
*Jonathan Toews won 81% of his draws tonight on top of poking home the second goal of the game.

*Blackhawks outshot the Coyotes 35-16
*Power Play: 1-for-5 (20%)
