Revenge is a dish best served cold. Or so it’s been said.
The Chicago Blackhawks will open the 2016-17 NHL season against hated rival, St. Louis Blues, on October 12 at the United Center.
That’s right, the Blackhawks get their first shot against the team that eliminated them in the past playoffs to start their season.
The Blackhawks will look different than they did the last time St. Louis. Bryan Bickell and Teuvo Teravainen are now members of the Carolina Hurricanes.
Andrew Ladd is a free agent and it remains to be seen if he’ll come to an agreement with GM Stan Bowman. Andrew Shaw is in a similar situation as he heads towards restricted free agency, as the Blackhawks look to avoid a situation similar to the one they faced with Brendan Saad.
The Hawks look to be back and better than ever as they look to add a fourth title in seven years.
