Chicago Bulls’ new acquisition, Carlos Boozer, will miss 8 weeks with a broken hand.
According to team sources, Boozer broke his fifth metacarpal bone upon tripping over a bag in his home. The injury occurred on Saturday – during a day off for the team.
Taj Gibson will likely replace the veteran power forward in the starting line-up. The Bulls’ starting center, Joakim Noah, will need to pick up the slack for the injury-prone Boozer.
It is expected that Boozer will miss close to the first 15 games of the regular season. He is yet to make is on-court debut for the Bulls since signing a 5-year/$80 million deal with the team, last July.

he should have taken his talents to South Beach.
Man, you should have somebody to clean house for you, then you wouldn’t be tripping over stuff.
This really sucks, you’d think he was playing for the Cubs with such a freak injury!! I hope that he recovers quickly!! Go Bulls!
Yes, you’re absolutely right. You’d almost assume that he slipped in his hottub, or (better yet) broke his back via sneezing… It seems something like this could only happen to a Chicago pro. athlete!
