CBS’s Jon Heyman is reporting that Joe Maddon will be the next manager of the Chicago Cubs. After a week of speculation, it looks like the dream is finally coming true.
Maddon opted out of his deal with Tampa Bay last week and there was much speculation that he could land in Chicago. There were even reports that Maddon was ‘highly interested’ in coaching the Cubs.
Rick Renteria, who was serving as Cubs manager, has two years left on his three-year deal he signed in the off-season.
