Today on his official twitter page Chicago Bulls guard CJ Watson broke the news that his teammate Derrick Rose won the 2010-2011 NBA MVP award. Here’s Watson’s official twitter page: http://twitter.com/#!/quietstorm_32
We expect it to truly break and become 100% official in the very near future. Players are often informed of league decisions prior to the official announcement by the NBA. This is a report from CJ Watson, his teammate, so we expect it to be 100% true.
Multiple reports all over twitter suggest that Rose will receive the MVP trophy prior to Game One of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals second round against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday in Chicago.
In just his third year in the league,Rose lead the Bulls to a NBA 62-20 record while averaging 25.0 points per game during the regular season. Rose’s stellar play has continued throughout the first round of the playoffs as he averaged 27 points per game in the Bulls 4-1 series win over the Pacers. He was also named the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2008-2009.
Rose is Chicago’s first MVP winner since Michael Jordan.
