To say the Chicago White Sox defense is good this season is an understatement. It’s been significantly better this offseason thanks to some key additions in the infield.
One of those key additions showed why the White Sox defense has improved in one play on Saturday.
Second baseman Brett Lawrie, acquired via trade in the offseason, flashed the leather during Saturday’s win over the Texas Rangers. He picked a ground ball and threw the runner out with a behind the back play that will leave you wondering how he did that:
The play comes just a day after the White Sox turned a crazy triple play in Friday’s win over the Rangers. The result of the games were the same however, as the White Sox walked off on Saturday thanks to Jose Abreu.
