According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Chicago Bulls have agreed on a trade that would send point guard Marquis Teague to the Brooklyn Nets. In return the Bulls will receive forward Toko Shengelia.
Teague never found a role in Chicago and saw limited minutes that included a trip to the NBA D-League in just 68 games with the Bulls. The move makes sense for the Bulls as Teague sat behind Kirk Hinrich and D.J. Augustin for most of the year. Teague never fit in with the Bulls system and struggled averaging just 2.1 ppg in limited minutes.
The move gives Brooklyn some depth at the point guard spot if Teague pans out to become a good player. The deal should be finalized soon.
Shengelia is averaging 1.8 points per game this season for the Nets.
