On Thursday’s draft, the Chicago Bulls select Kentucky point guard, Marquis Teague with the 29th pick. Teague, 19, is leaving the Wildcats after his freshman year, where UK won the National Championship, along with #1 overall pick, Anthony Davis. He was the fourth Kentucky player selected in the first round.
Teague is a high endurance, explosive point guard with excellent court vision. He can dunk the ball with just a step, and he’s slightly ahead of schedule for shooting development, but not much of a jump shooter.
6’1″ and 180lb, with a 6’7 1/4″ wingspan, 19 years old, and boasts a 40.5″ vertical, second among all columbine rookies. Born in Indianapolis, may have grown up a Pacer fan, but shows NBA neutrality and professionalism in interviews.
From a pure draft-day perspective, the Bulls could not have done much better. Time will tell.
Welcome to Chicago, Marquis!
