The Bulls will likely be without Derrick Rose tonight as they head to Orlando, looking to avenge a March 8th loss to the Magic.
In that 99-94 home loss, Orlando’s Dwight Howard dominated, totaling 29 points and 18 rebounds in what many people thought could be a potential audition for Bulls’ GM Gar Forman. Less than two weeks later, Howard’s future is a bit clearer. He will remain with the Magic, at least, through the end of this season. Orlando is 1-1 since last Thursday’s trade deadline, beating the New Jersey Nets at home before falling on the road to the Miami Heat Sunday afternoon.
The Bulls will likely be without D-Rose for the fourth consecutive game, as he continues to recover from a groin injury suffered a week ago against the Knicks.
Rose has missed 13 games this season to various injuries. The Bulls are 9-4 in games played without their superstar point guard. Coach Tom Thibodeau is calling Rose day-to-day with the injury.
“They say with an injury like this they don’t know how long it’s going to take,” Rose told the Chicago Tribune before Monday’s morning shootaround at Amway Center. “I thought I was going to be back sooner. I’m missing big games that I hate to miss, like the one tonight.”
Tip-off is tonight at 7:00 PM CST. CSN Chicago and TNT will both be covering the game.
