The Chicago Bulls have officially signed first round pick Doug Mcdermott out of Creighton according to Chicago Sun-times reporter on the Bulls KC Johnson via twitter.
The 22 year old 6’8 225lb forward was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the 2014 draft, but then Chicago traded their 16th and 19th picks for the scoring forward.
Already being a favorite in Chicago, Bulls fans already have plenty of nicknames for the rookie such as Dougie McBuckets. McDermott can very well be a x-factor for the Bulls this season, as he is a great scorer and can shoot the three ball effortlessly. Bulls needed scoring as the team finished almost dead last last season in offense.
Doug McDermott averaged 18 ppg in the summer league shooting 44% and grabbing four rebounds per contest. Many were amazed with the guys offense, and especially his 31pt game.
Now Coach Tom Thibodeau can develop that defense of McDermott that may drive the coach crazy this season.
McDermott will keep his number 3 jersey for the team.
