The Chicago Bulls entered the Air Canada Centre with a six game winning streak, and walked out with their seventh consecutive victory on Wednesday night.
Carlos Boozer dominated the game from the onset. The Raptors were missing their only shot-blocker, in Andrea Bargnani, and Boozer took full advantage. He ended with 34 points and 12 rebounds, on 13-of-17 shooting, through three quarters. Derrick Rose added 6 points and 11 assists despite the wrist and ankle sprains.
Joakim Noah added 11 points and 11 rebounds. But solemn news came tonight – the Bulls’ starting center will miss the next 8-10 weeks in order to surgically repair a torn ligament in his right thumb and recover.
Noah will likely be sidelined for over 30 games of the Bulls’ up-coming schedule.
Nevertheless, Chicago has a relatively easy schedule all the way until the month of February. If the Bulls can manage to run the table without Joakim Noah, that could spell bad news for the rest of the NBA.
Chicago defeated Toronto by the score of 110-93. The next game will be Saturday night, at home, against the L.A. Clippers.
