In what seemed like a playoff game early on in the game and then again late, the Chicago Bulls controlled majority of the night over the Washington Wizards. The Bulls, led behind their superstar point guard Derrick Rose, came in on the road and got the win over the Wizards 99-91 Tuesday night.
The Wizards are looking at a different Bulls team this time around vs the team they beat in the first round of the NBA playoffs just a season before, the Wizards won the playoff series in five games in which they completely dominated the series. As for the Bulls, they came equipped with a head coach that knows exactly how this Wizards team play and he came prepared along with his team.
Most of the night was seen as the Rose show, as the former league MVP controlled the pace of the game. Rose did what he wanted with the Wizards defense, whether it was getting to the hole or getting the Wizards plays to commit and dishing it to an open teammate for the assist. Rose finished the night with 25 points and four assists.
As the game approached it’s conclusion it seems like Wizards point guard John Wall got hot late, leading his team with 10 of their 12 straight points late to give them an 87-86 lead with just under four minutes remaining in the fourth.
Just as quickly as the Wizards got hot, they went cold. The Bulls then got the hot hand and scored eight straight points, six by Rose to give them a 94-87 lead with under two minutes to play.
The Bulls lead the Wizards in the battle on the boards with 52 to the Wizards 41. Center Joakim Noah led the Bulls in this category with 11 rebounds.
The Bulls improve to a record of 19-9, and the Wizards fall to 19-8. The Bulls next game is at home against the Los Angelos Lakers Christmas day.
