The Chicago Bulls are reportedly working towards a deal with Lakers power forward Pau Gasol. Gasol would be acquired via a sign and trade, however its being reported that the Lakers wouldn’t take Carlos Boozer back in a sign and trade. Other assets the Bulls have include draft picks, Jimmy Butler, Tony Snell, Mike Dunleavy, non-guaranteed contracts including Ronnie Brewer and Mike James, and Taj Gibson.
This move means that the Bulls would have to trade power forward Taj Gibson in order to remain serious suitors for Carmelo Anthony. It’s being reported that trading Gibson and signing Gasol to a deal worth 5 million dollars, that the Bulls could offer Anthony a 20 million dollar per year deal.
