Mark Buehrle is known for throwing short games and today was no different. Tonight’s game only lasted One Hour and Fifty Two minutes, however, Pavano was just as good.
The Sox were actually on top early in this game on the RBI single by Paul Konerko scoring Alex Rios. Unfortunately it was all Twins from then. A big second inning would doom the Sox, started off with the RBI single by Delmon Young. It was then Jason Kubel who would triple to deep center scoring Young. Then Valencia doubled to score Kubel giving the Twins a 3-1 lead after 2. In the 4th the Sox would get one back on the home run to left field by Paul Konerko but Pavano was able to tame the Sox offense leading the Twins to a 3-2 win.
Mark Buehrle was on target tonight, his only fault was lack of help from the offense. Mark allowed 9 scattered hits and just 3 runs in 8 innings. The one thing the Sox can take from this game is that the bullpen was not used hopefully keeping their arms frehs as there is still 7 game on the road trip.
The Sox will look to split the series tomorrow afternoon in Minnesota.
