Carlos Boozer limped off of the court on Thursday night after Charlotte Bobcats’ center Kwame Brown bumped him from the side during a Boozer dunk attempt.
Brown was charged with a flagrant-one foul.
Luol Deng was also hobbling in the third quarter after colliding with one of the Bobcats’ players, but managed to stay in the game.
The Bulls can only hope these two players are going to be all right as they are now firmly in the second seed in the Eastern Conference after a 101-84 victory.
Charlotte managed to defeat the Bulls twice, prior to this game, this season alone. But tonight was not their night as Stephen Jackson and Tyrus Thomas sat out. On top of the fact that, a former Bobcat player who always seemed to give the Bulls problems, is now in a Portland jersey following the trade deadline.
Derrick Rose provided the Bulls with 20 points, four rebounds, six assists, two steals and three blocked shots- also hitting four out of his six three-point attempts.
Kyle Korver hit four of his seven three-point attempts and Joakim Noah added 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Gerald Henderson had 20 points and eight assists but it wouldn’t be enough. The Bulls clamped down on defense, as they usually do, in the second half of play and rolled to the easy victory. But the victory was dampered by worries over the condition of the leg injury of Carlos Boozer.
X-rays on Boozer’s leg came up negative. That is a positive sign, though we will keep our fingers crossed.
