Uman85 here with my top 5 rankings at each position for week 6 in fantasy football.
QB
1. Aaron Rodgers, GB – How could it not be Rodgers? He’s been consistently phenomenal over the first 5 weeks of the season and with a match-up against the winless Rams, he’s in for another big day on Sunday.
2. Cam Newton, CAR – He’s proved the doubters wrong in a big way. Call it beginner’s luck all you want, but he can run and throw at will and isn’t afraid to do so. Cam is the real deal.
3. Tom Brady, NE – He’s Tom Brady. 3-time Super Bowl MVP. That’s about all you need to know. He’s looked human at times this year, but still far better than any back-up you’ve got.
4. Drew Brees, NO – Brees is passing with ease this year. He’s back to form after a disappointing season last year putting up huge passing numbers and moving the ball through the air at will.
5. Tony Romo, DAL – Coming off a bye week and having two weeks to prepare for the Patriots, Romo should have a big day against a mediocre at best New England secondary. Add in Miles Austin returning and you’ve got a recipe for success.
RB
1. Adrian Peterson, MIN – AP was supposedly hampered by a sore ankle last week against Arizona. The result: 29 carries, 122 yards, 3 TDs. Not too shabby. After Jahvid Best went wild on the Bears this Monday, Peterson should be salivating while watching the game tape.
2. Ray Rice, BAL – In the air or on the ground, Rice has found a way to be extremely successful this year. You may stop one, but not both as Rice’s versatility and speed will be a big advantage for the Ravens against Houston this week.
3. Darren McFadden, OAK – McFadden is coming off a disappointing game in Houston. Look for a huge rebound against the Browns, who haven’t allowed less than triple digits in rushing all year.
4. Fred Jackson, BUF – Jackson has been lights out so far on the ground for Buffalo. With Donald Brown out and a suspect New York run D, Jackson could be in for another big day on offense.
5. Matt Forte, CHI – Surprised? You shouldn’t be. With Cutler having little to no protection in the passing game, Forte has emerged as a big threat for the Chicago offense. He has run free every week to this point. Don’t expect Minnesota to stop him.
WR
1. Calvin Johnson, DET – Megatron. Not only is it a badass nickname, it fits him well. Johnson is a machine in the Lions’ offense scoring 2 TDs in every game this year, prior to Monday night where he tallied only one TD but 130 yards receiving. Don’t expect San Francisco to slow him down any, if at all.
2. Wes Welker, NE – The Brady-Welker connection is alive and well. If it were a band, it’d be playing some sweet music right now. He has consistently put up big numbers and leads the league in receiving yards.
3. Greg Jennings, GB – Jennings has been the #1 guy in Green Bay all year, despite a plethora of receiving options. He may be hampered by a sore groin, but that shouldn’t change his production much against the Rams. They haven’t won a game this year. Don’t look for that to change against the defending Super Bowl champs.
4. Steve Smith, CAR – With Newton in the pocket, expect Smith to have a field day against a porous Atlanta secondary that has yet to live up to their potential. Smith has been torching opponents all year and will continue this Sunday.
5. Miles Austin, DAL – He’s back and ready to deliver. After a bye week, Dallas faces off against a Patriots secondary that simply isn’t capable of containing Austin. He’ll have a big day. Welcome back, Miles!
TE
1. Jimmy Graham, NO
2. Rob Gronkowski, NE
3. Jermichael Finley, GB
4. Jason Witten, DAL
5. Owen Daniels, HOU
D/ST
1. Baltimore
2. New York Jets
3. Green Bay
4. Pittsburgh
5. Detroit
K
1. Sebastian Janikowski, OAK
2. Mason Crosby, GB
3. Jason Hanson, DET
4. Stephen Gostkowski, NE
5. Dan Bailey, DAL
That’s my take, ladies and gentlemen. Until next week, good luck!
