Jackson Powers-Johnson, Center – Oregon
Another center makes the list, as I truly believe this is one of the most gaping holes in this offensive line, and team in general. Powers-Johnson is also a massive 6’3, 330 at the center position, and has really improved his draft stock over the past season with Oregon.
The scouting report for Jackson Powers-Johnson is similar to Van Pran, as both as absolute units in the rushing attack, overpowering defensive tackles on a consistent basis. Unlike Van Pran, I see Powers-Johnson as a center and a center only, as he doesn’t pull well enough to slide over to guard.
I love the tenacity #Oregon center Jackson Powers-Johnson plays with. Running downfield 40+ yards alongside Bo Nix on a big scramble and just gets the job done in the run game and as a pass protector.

He allowed no sacks in 2022, while allowing just one QB hit and one QB hurry. Those numbers are pretty impressive in a pass heavy collegiate football game. Similar to Van Pran, he needs work is pass protection, but the potential and tenacity are their for Powers-Johnson to become a starting center in the NFL.
He’s more of a value pick, as I believe you could snag him in the late 2nd or 3rd round of the 2024 NFL draft. Powers-Johnson was also a finalist for the Remington award. This Chicago Bears team NEEDS a center, so why not start in the draft and find a young, capable guy like Jackson.
