Jaylen Wright – Tennessee / 5’10 210 LBS
After running a blazing 4.38 at the combine a few days ago, Jaylen Wright has only improved his draft stock in this weaker running back class. Wright could be a perfect compliment to second year back Roschon Johnson, and could eventually replace Khalil Herbert.
Wright is a strong, violent runner who gets low to the ground and avoids contact at an elite level. A dangerous open field running who could provide very explosive plays to an offense that desperately needs more of them. The former Volunteer is also a receiver threat out of the backfield who displays great vision and continues to add to his diverse game.

Wright had a fantastic year in 2023, running for 1010 yards on 136 attempts for an outstanding 7.4 yard per carrie, adding 4 touchdowns, and just one fumble. As a receiver he made 22 receptions for 141 yards. Wright also clocked a top speed of 23.6 MPH this year in practice, showing his skills as a burner.
As his combine numbers create even more buzz, Wright may be hard to get in the later rounds, as his stock seems to be climbing. The best chance the Bears get him is if they trade back from the first pick for a plethora of more.
Third round might be a stretch, especially if Chicago goes offense back to back in the first, but an intriguing name to say the least.
