MarShawn Lloyd – USC / 5’9 220 LBS
Our third and final running back on this list is MarShawn Lloyd out of Southern California, another duel-threat back who could be a perfect target for the Bears during the 2024 NFL draft.
Lloyd is strong and elusive as a back, who shows incredible initial burst and elite foot quickness. As a pass blocker there is still some work to be done, but the foundation is there to build on his current ability. Last season at USC, Lloyd ran for 816 yards on 115 attempts for an elite 7.1 yards per carrie. He also racked up 9 touchdowns on a very good Trojan offense. As a receiver, Lloyd had 13 receptions for 232 yards.
His big frame and impressive strength will be attractive to scouts across the league.
MarShawn Lloyd made himself some money this weekend.
If he cleans up the ball security issues & matures a bit as a runner he’s a lead back with Pro-bowl caliber upside.
Runs with an effective combination of patience & violence.

Like mentioned above, Lloyd does need to fix his ball security issues, as he did cough up the ball 3 times during the 2023 season. He spent his first two years in the NCAA as a South Carolina Gamecock, where he fumbled the ball 5 times over that time. Guys who fumble a lot tend to not have the longest NFL lifespan, but it’s something that can be fixed.
Even with those concerns, Lloyd’s fast 40 time (4.46) should keep him in middle round consideration. Look of the Bears to possibly reunite him with Caleb Williams if that is the direction they indeed go in.
