Round 1, Pick 1 (from CAR): QB Caleb Williams, USC / 6’1 215 LBS
The most polarizing prospect in college football this season, welcome to the Chicago Bears Caleb Williams.
The debates on social media over the past few months have been heated, as Bears fans seemed pretty divided on the topic as a whole. Even guys like Deion Sanders just recently called out Williams. But with Justin Fields officially gone, he seems like a sure lock to be selected first overall.
The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner has elite arm strength and mobility, has put up unreal stats during his tenure at the collegiate level, and looks to be the closest thing to Patrick Mahomes since he was drafted in 2017. His absurd arm accuracy and athleticism make him a desirable selection at one in the 2024 NFL draft.

Like any prospect, Williams has plenty he can work on. His footwork needs improvement, and his carelessness with the ball at times could make him prone to turnovers at the next level.
However, regardless of how you feel about Williams, his potential is off the charts, and the Chicago Bears can simply not pass on him. After passing on Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud last season, it makes this decision even easier in my opinion. Go with the best guy on the board, at the most important position in football.
