The 2025 CFP National Championship features studs on both teams; Who should the Chicago Bears be keeping an eye on?
Next Monday, January 20th, the football world will tune into one of the most anticipated National Championships in recent memory. The Ohio State Buckeyes will face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a battle of what I think is the two best teams in the country at this point. Many teams around the NFL will be watching close as the NFL draft nears.
In particular, the Chicago Bears have many holes on this roster to address if they are serious about becoming contenders in the next few seasons. Surely, GM Ryan Poles and the rest of the front office will be watching closely as they dial in on some of the studs on both sides of this championship game.
It’s been rumored that the Bears also have interest in Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman, so that will be another interesting footnote to keep in mind as this process continues.
Priorities such as the offensive line will be a main focus this spring for the Bears, as they will need to protect Caleb Williams going forward if he has any chance to succeed. An entire revamp of the line may be needed as we all saw a rushing game that was non existent, as well as a helpless rookie quarterback running for his life.
Defensively, the Bears will look to continue getting younger. Clearly, it was the strength of this team, so a massive overhaul is unlikely needed, but there’s plenty of talent in this class to make them even stronger. They still need to work on getting to the quarterback more, so another early dip at EDGE isn’t out of the question.
Let’s dive into 3 potential targets for the Chicago Bears to watch during next week’s National Championship.
